The short version
Tabka stores your local workspaces and bookmarks in your browser. Cloud sync is optional and requires an account. Tabka does not sell personal data, read page content, or use your browsing history for advertising.
Browser permissions
The current extension requests access to tabs, bookmarks and matching web pages because its open-tabs panel, browser-bookmark import, metadata previews and cover-region selection depend on those APIs. Page metadata is read locally only after an explicit save or preview action; navigation is not inspected automatically and page content is not sent to Tabka servers. Restricted browser pages cannot be read. We are moving page access to explicit, optional permission requests before the next release.
Data we process
If you create an account, the service processes your email, profile, workspaces, pages, collections and bookmarks to provide authentication and sync. Preview images are processed to display bookmark covers. Authentication and security logs may include IP address and user-agent for a limited retention period.
Optional telemetry
Anonymous usage analytics and client error reports are off until you opt in from Settings. Analytics contain feature events and coarse technical metadata; they never include bookmark URLs, titles, notes, search queries or workspace names. Error reports are redacted and exclude bookmark content. You can revoke either choice at any time; revoking also clears locally queued anonymous events.
Your controls
You can use Tabka as a guest, export your data, delete your account, revoke sessions, and remove local data from browser storage. Contact support for privacy requests.
